Christmas is only a few days away and that means it’s time to get baking! In preparation for upcoming festivities, I shall be spending my entire Saturday baking as many cookies as I can! Some are family recipes, some repeat recipes and some new recipes I’m trying out.
A Christmas party isn’t a real party unless you have good desserts. That being said, I’m going all out with the cookies. Here’s the line-up of Christmas cookies I plan to make:
Is it really Christmas if you don’t have sugar cookies shaped like Christmas trees or snowflake or basically any Christmas related object? I can’t promise that they will be the most beautiful looking cookies decorating-wise, but I’ll give it a shot.
Yesss, snowballs!!! These are perfect little cookies and they have pecans so they are also delicious. The fact that they actually look like snowballs is also a plus. If you aren’t a huge pecan fan, you can always switch them out for walnuts.
These were delicious the first time around, and they are going to be delicious again. This time I promise I will remember to take photos! The cranberry-walnutty goodness will go perfectly with a cup of joe, or hot cocoa, and some Christmas cheer!
Chocolate Cake Cookies
Not your typical Christmas cookie, but a family member requested it so I shall bake it! I mean, I like chocolate so I don’t doubt that I will like these. Throw them on a reindeer plate and they qualify as a Christmas cookie, right?
UPDATE: These ended up turning into Sprinkle Spritz
Know those cute and tiny cookies in all different fun shapes that are usually on a generic Christmas cookie platter? Well, those are cookie spritz and you use a cool cookie press to make them. I have been dying for a cookie press and although I don’t own one, I was able to get my hands on one for this weekend so I shall spritz all the cookies I can in a 24 hour period!
Chocolate Peppermint Biscotti
UPDATE: Unfortunately, I ran out of time and these were never made, but I still plan on making them in the following weeks.
I’m hoping that If I have this with my coffee it will taste like a Peppermint Mocha from Starbucks, a girl can try! If this does work, I will be ecstatic!
One of my family members saw a video for this on Facebook and thought it looked good, so I made it for our Christmas party so she could try it out!
There is one more cookie being made, but I’m not sure if that recipe is allowed to be shared or not. Every year my family makes these dutch cookies that melt in your mouth and are so good you want to eat them for every meal of the day! They are very small as well so you can clear a whole plate and not even realize it. Maybe you will get to taste them as well…maybe!
As with the previous holidays, I will link the recipes to this post once they are published and I will attempt to publish all of this deliciousness before Christmas so you can try them too!
Happy Baking and Happy Holidays!
